Sometimes you don’t move forward when you keep doing the same thing over and over again.
Working on the computer can get exhausting — in that case, there’s nothing better than working in situ. I accepted the commission from Florence Café in the Gare district with great pleasure. It felt like spending almost a week in exile in my old neighborhood, where I grew up. The piece refers to coffee — the smell of freshly ground beans, the mystery of its color, and the light foam that forms during brewing. With a keen eye and a bit of patience, you can even spot the letter F.
The coffee shop, once open to the public, later became the Florence bakery — now a working space.
But in a way, this shift fits even better with the concept of mystery: the artwork is now only visible when the baker lifts the shutters. Next time you're around, discover this artwork — it’s definitely worth taking a look through the window at 74 Rue d’Anvers.
